Best Western refused to hire me for front desk, tried to get me on their breakfast team with someone who’s so unprofessional that I understand why they are desperate for help, then told me to f*ck off when I walked off the job, something I don’t usually do. I usually wait until my shifts over to leave and not go back but when I feel threatened when I’m medicated properly, there’s a problem with your staff that should be addressed and fixed, not ignored & hidden. I have severe mental health diagnoses. You don’t treat someone like me like that. That’s how companies get sued. There are laws about this. The Americans With Disabilities Act. Companies have to hire disabled people if they are qualified for the job and are supposed to even give a disabled person the job before it’s given to anyone else, so long as they qualify. Most companies skirt around that policy and discriminate in heinous ways. Marriott hired me in 2 minutes and loved my work on the first day. BW doesn’t hold a candle to what Marriott can and does handle daily. I miss my old boss. She was one of the nicest bosses I’ve ever had but Marriott is hard to compete with. Hilton is next in the most obvious context.
